Give Your Time to Help the Animals
We would love to have you join us in our work for the animals! AAHS depends on volunteers to help keep the shelter and adoption center running smoothly, to advocate for animals in the community, and to help raise funds to keep all of the vital programs of AAHS operating.
The best way to stay up-to-date about volunteer opportunities and orientations is to get our e-newsletter, below.
NEW Volunteer Orientation
Spring is a time for new beginnings and at the Athens Area Humane Society that means our
new-and-improved volunteer program! We've spent several months restructuring our volunteer program to ensure positive growth for AAHS as well as for our volunteers. We are so excited to have a program that will be able to help our volunteers master skills needed at AAHS while at the same time reward them for all their hard work.
We will be holding a
Volunteer Orientation on
Saturday, March 15th at 10am and
Monday, March 31st at 4pm at our new
Spay and Neuter Center in Watkinsville. If you're interested in learning more about AAHS and our volunteer opportunities, please
email Denise, our Special Projects Manager, to sign up for an orientation. Attending Orientation will give you a broad understanding of AAHS
programs and volunteer opportunities, and is the first step to
volunteering. Orientations last about 2 hours and refreshments will be provided.
