The Athens Area Humane Society is seeking a part-time Animal Care Technician / Phone System Administrator.
PT (25 hrs) must be available
*Friday 7am - 4pm,
*Saturday 9am - 4pm
*Sunday 9am- 4pm, and some holidays.

We are looking for a hard working, detail-oriented and motivated team player who is extremely reliable, punctual, able to work independently, able to multi-task, and not afraid to get dirty.
Our ideal hire will have outstanding customer service skills and patience, high performance standards, excellent listening and communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a constant smile.
The job includes cleaning and sanitizing cages, tracking and maintaining the health and well being of the cats and small animals in our shelter, as well as checking and returning voice mail messages, scheduling appointments, assisting with miscellaneous phone call questions or needs, working with the public to communicate policies and procedures, and other minimal office work.
General Responsibilities:
*answer phones
*check and return phone messages for both the intake shelter and the spay and neuter center
*daily animal care and cleaning
*facility cleaning and maintenance
Qualifications:
*must be a high school graduate
*must have customer service skills and knowledge of proper phone etiquette
*must be able to work in an environment that includes cats, dogs, other small animals dust, cleaning solutions, and audible animal noises
*excellent people and communication skills needed
*must be tactful and compassionate in dealing with customers
*must be able to spend time on your knees while cleaning cages
*must be able to change litter and come into contract with fecal matter- pregnant women should check with their doctor regarding the risk of Toxoplasmosis before applying
*must be able to lift 25lbs alone / 50lbs with assistance.
